Our mission is to make a real difference in the lives of children battling cancer and their families. We achieve this through research funding, awareness campaigns, and direct support to those affected.
At Finnbar’s Force, raising awareness of childhood cancer – especially brain tumours – is central to our mission. Early diagnosis can save lives, and we are committed to ensuring more families, healthcare professionals, and communities recognise the signs and symptoms.
We raise awareness through:
We are proud members of Brain Tumour Research, working alongside other charities to campaign for greater investment in research, improved treatments, and better outcomes for those affected by brain tumours.
Together, we’re building a louder voice for children and families facing the toughest battles..

We support children diagnosed with cancer – especially brain tumours – and their families through every step of their journey.
Practical and Emotional Support
We provide grants to help with essential costs like hospital travel, parking, and accommodation. Families also receive one-to-one advice and advocacy to help navigate complex systems and services.
The Den: A Safe Space
Our Family Support Hub, The Den in Eaton, offers a welcoming place for families to relax, connect, and access therapies including play therapy, massage, counselling, and support groups. Music therapy and yoga sessions are coming soon.
Expanding Personalised Care
We aim to recruit a dedicated Family Support Worker to offer tailored, one-to-one support, backed by trained volunteers.
Information and Connection
Our Information Toolkit links families to trusted resources and services. We’re also developing a new AI-based app to make accessing support even easier.

At Finnbar’s Force, we are passionate about advancing research into childhood brain tumours – the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among children.
Since 2017, we have donated almost £60,000 to research projects aimed at improving diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes for children.
We have supported pioneering work including:
We are committed to supporting further research, raising awareness, and advocating for greater national investment into childhood brain tumour studies.
Our goal is simple: better diagnostics, better treatments, and better futures for children facing a brain tumour diagnosis.
