Finnbars Force – Challenge Event Terms and Conditions

Thank you for participating in a Finnbars Force Events! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all participants (“Participants”) in any challenge event (“Event”) organised by Finnbars Force. By registering for or participating in an Event, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not participate in the Event.

 

About us:

 

Finnbars Force is a registered charity in England (Reg Charity No 1187338). Please ensure that our charity number is always present on any fundraising materials you produce.

 

Eligibility:

  1. Participants must be at least 18 years old to register for and participate in the Event. Participants under the age of 18 must have parental or guardian consent.
  2. Participants acknowledge that participation in the Event may involve physical activity that could be strenuous. By participating, you confirm that you are physically fit and capable of completing the Event. You agree to consult with a physician before participating if you have any health concerns.
  3. All charity place participants take part in the event at their own risk.

Registration:

  1. Participation in the Event requires prior registration. Registrations are non-transferable and non-refundable unless otherwise stated in these Terms.
  2. We reserve the right to refuse any application at our absolute discretion, without providing reasons for doing so.
  3. You understand that the event you are participating in is organised by a third party. You must adhere to the rules outlined by the event organisers, including any age restriction in place. Finnbars Force is not responsible for (i) cancellation of the sporting event and (ii) any loss, damage or injury acquired as a result of taking part and/or as a result of cancellation of the sporting event is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Fundraising:

  1. You pledge to raise the minimum sponsorship target for Finnbars Force as a result of your participation in the event and agree to the specific target for your event on your registration form (some events will have a minimum; others are a suggested target)
  2. Where there is a minimum sponsorship specified (as opposed to suggested) If the minimum sponsorship is not met before the event, Finnbars Force reserves the right to withdraw the charity place.
  3. All monies raised as part of your pledge must be paid to Finnbars Force within 4 weeks of the event date. If a deficit to the minimum sponsorship amount remains after this time, Finnbars Force may require you to pay the difference.
  4. Finnbars Force will provide help, support and advice with your fundraising activities and aim to help you raise as much as possible and ensure that you meet best practice.

Withdrawal:

  1. In the event you need to withdraw from the sporting event for any reason you should inform us promptly by one of the methods specified below. We regret that we are unable to refund any registration payment or sponsorship that you may have raised for or paid to Finnbars Force.
  2. You can withdraw from your place in the sporting event at any point by emailing events@finnbarsforce.org. No withdrawal fee will be payable to Finnbars Force however we regret that we are unable to refund any registration payment or sponsorship that you may have raised for or paid to Finnbars Force prior to your withdrawal.

Event Cancellation:

  1. You agree that should the event organiser cancel or postpone the event; their terms and conditions will apply.
  2. Should the event be cancelled through no fault of the participant, Finnbars Force will offer a full refund of the registration fee as well as offering the return of any sponsorship.
  3. Refund requests must be made in writing and refunds will be refunded by Finnbars Force directly via the original payment method.
  4. Finnbars Force shall not be responsible for any additional costs relating to your charity place including (but not limited to) accommodation, travel or sustenance.

Event Photography and Video:

  1. Any images, videos, audio or quotes we collect from you in connection with your participation in or fundraising for the sporting event may be used by Finnbars Force on social media, or third-party websites and in future marketing materials or other publications. If you would like your image removed, please contact events@finnbarsforce.org. We will aim to remove all images within 10 working days.
  2. We will not include personal contact details on our website, video, social media or other marketing materials.
